Pumpkin picking

I've been wanting and wanting to take Joseph to a pumpkin patch, but all the ones I knew about were in faraway places like Kent or Carnation. (Too long of a trip for a kid prone to carsickness.) Then another mom suggested the South 47 Farm, which is just half an hour away. Ridiculously beautiful day on Sunday, so we piled into the car and headed to the Eastside. Joseph loved walking through the big pumpkin patch and touching all those round orange things. The was a tractor ride too, which we didn't go on but we did enjoy watching.  A toddler-size hops maze. Chris on the other side of the plastic divider was wildly entertaining.  So tired and so happy. Joseph held his little pumpkin most of the way home, when he wasn't holding his feet. Wish I were this flexible! Oh! This weekend we also got Joseph his Halloween costume. He's going to be the world's cutest little monkey, which will be terrific because he makes a great monkey screech. Pumpkins, Halloween... it's definitely feeling like fall.
