We made a little gingerbread house (from the Trader Joe's kit), then went downtown to see the gingerbread masterpieces. This year's theme was Seattle in the future, and it seems lots of people imagined Seattle mostly submerged. Hmm.
The Harry Potter series came out when I was in school, and no one was a bigger fan than my advisor, the late, great Bill Glavin. A Ballard dad built some of that magic in his driveway, a life-size Diagon Alley. If you haven't seen it yet, go. It is amazing. Diagon Alley will be up through Christmas.
