I LOVE this weather. I'll take cool and cloudy over hot and sunny, any day.

Taking advantage of this nice cool weather to get outside. We made it to the sandy bluff at Discovery Park, but not down to the beach — no shuttle this summer to cheat our way back. 🙁
Our first time peeing in a public restroom since March! Fun and cheap day trip to Bainbridge. All the businesses in Winslow were super careful, and everywhere we went felt clean and spaced out. (Wish I could say the same about downtown Seattle.)
My story is on ParentMap here.
Ahh... the summer of the backyard. I upgraded our "pool" to the super deluxe 5-foot version so it's big enough for both kids to lounge in, all 10 inches of water.
A quick getaway to the poor man's Seabrook — Golden Gardens! I had been hearing about how horribly crowded it is, but we totally lucked out and practically had the beach to ourselves. The key is going on a weekday, in the morning, with rain in the forecast. And overcast day = great big softbox in the sky, so my little photographer heart was PUMPED.
Paul, my intrepid explorer, was concerned about walking on the sand but then he saw Joseph having a great time and he got into it. Perfect, perfect morning at the beach.
Birthday cupcake! Paul helpfully pointed out, "Mama, 62 more years until you are 101." Geez thanks.
Yes, in Seattle, we wear sweaters in July.
Caught Paul impersonating me!
Very professional! Paul wants to do everything Joseph can, including learning to type.
Happy 4th of July! No block party this year, but we decorated bikes and had a 2-person parade.
