Do tacos taste better when they’re from a sketchy sidewalk stand? When the hours are erratic and it’s cash only? Maybe it’s the thrill of the chase, maybe it’s the heat of the trompo and the self-serve buckets of toppings with questionable hygiene.
Tacos La Cuadra opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant on 15th at 73rd, near Ballard High, on May 4. We went a couple days after a story came out in The Seattle Times and it was crickets inside. You can eat the same tacos, at civilized tables and chairs, with a restroom and a Public Health rating posted in the window.
We happened to meet the owner, a really nice guy from Mexico City. I hope this place takes off because the hours and location are great.
