One perfect day in Vancouver, B.C.

One perfect day in Vancouver: Science World, Aqua bus and Granville Island.

Every year I ask the kids if they want a party or a trip for their birthday, and invariably they choose a trip. For Joseph’s birthday, we drove across the border and did all his favorite things. We did not eat out one time — shocking! — because while it’s my favorite thing to do in Vancouver, it’s not his.

Granville Island gets me every time. Such a magical little neighborhood.
Paul was a little too amused by the image of Joseph in a princess dress.
More pulleys makes it easier to pull yourself up.
Walking through a video game environment.
The little passenger ferries are too cute!
When you don’t really care about privacy, since your windows face the water. This houseboat looks just like a Barbie playhouse.
An art installation on Granville Island. They’re made to look like red dresses on hangers. Meaning?

Vancouver bonus round: we never miss a chance to bike around Stanley Park. Such a beautiful way to see the city. I like that it’s a one-way loop, with a dedicated bike lane.
