Family adventure on the IMAX screen: ‘The Arctic’

New bears at Woodland Park Zoo
We went to see the new grizzly bear cubs at Woodland Park Zoo. They’re both babies, less than a year old, and 200 and 150 pounds respectively! One was found wandering motherless in Alaska; the other cub’s mother was euthanized because she got too close to humans in Montana.

Kringle’s Filling Station
These two have been talking about Kringle’s Filling Station for literally 11.5 months and they were SO excited to go again this year. It’s located at 83rd and Aurora, and $18 a person. There’s foosball, skee ball, plinko, ring toss, karaoke and a bean bag toss. Fewer games than last year, but we were won…

‘Paddington Save Christmas’ at Seattle Children’s Theatre
Marmalade and teddy grahams for a pre-show snack… We got a sneak peak of “Paddington Saves Christmas” at SCT and that bear was just the cutest! The show runs through New Year’s Eve. Here’s a link to my review on ParentMap.

AI exhibit at MOHAI
I wrote about MOHAI’s AI exhibit for The Seattle Times.The interactive stations were super fun. There’s an AI painter, a guess-your-age AI, speech-to-text recognition and more. Here’s a link to the story. Walking around South Lake Union afterward was great too!

Bothell’s Ridge Activity Center to the rescue on rainy days
