  • April Fools

I made brown Es for the boys this morning. They were not amused.

  • Cherry blossom season

Our daily commute down Dravus is especially pretty this time of year. 🌸 Literally all of Magnolia is covered in blossoms right now. This is in front of a neighbor’s tree.

  • Science at home

Hypothesis: Plants needΒ sun and water to grow. Results: At the end of a two-week experiment, we found that plants grow best with water and NO sun. We identified common household elements and compounds. There’s a new, previously unknown element that’s missing from the periodic table (added by Paul).

  • Disneyland!

EPIC trip to the happiest place on Earth. This crew couldn’t care less about Snow White and Sleeping Beauty (I tried) but they ran right up to Lightening McQueen and Mater. Disneyland was a sea of stroller parking, but California Adventure seemed to trend a little older and had fewer people. We loved Radiator Springs…

  • Sea lions

Urban wildlife: sea lions chilling by Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard. Easy free street parking on Seaview, and you can get amazingly close.

  • Cupcakes

    Pit stop after school.

  • LA: What we ate

First stop in LA. Oh, I would be in so much trouble if a Lee’s opened in Seattle. Also tried my first In-N-Out burger. Now I know why it’s so popular. Dashed to Okayama Kobo Bakery & Cafe before hopping on our flight home. Even the box is super cute. My buns made it back…

  • Renton dragon

Did you know there is a dragon in Renton?? Its name is Erasmus, and while it doesn’t breathe fire, it does light up in different colors. A nice elderly couple saw me taking pictures of it, and they showed me its footprints inside a coffeeshop across the street. “Is it a real dragon?” I asked,…
