  • New dinosaur exhibit

Last night, we went on a date with dinosaurs! Dinos Alive, which opened today, is a new immersive exhibition in Sodo. It’s put on by the same people doing the Van Gogh show; the dinosaurs are in another section of the same warehouse. Here’s a link to my story on ParentMap.

  • Kraken rink

A friend treated us to a skate session at the new Kraken practice facility. Very fancy!

  • April Fools

I made brown Es for the boys this morning. They were not amused.

  • Cherry blossom season

  • Science at home

Hypothesis: Plants needΒ sun and water to grow. Results: At the end of a two-week experiment, we found that plants grow best with water and NO sun. We identified common household elements and compounds. There’s a new, previously unknown element that’s missing from the periodic table (added by Paul).

Disneyland was a sea of stroller parking, but California Adventure seemed to trend a little older and had fewer people. We loved Radiator Springs…

  • Sea lions

Urban wildlife: sea lions chilling by Ray’s Boathouse in Ballard. Easy free street parking on Seaview, and you can get amazingly close.

  • Cupcakes

    Pit stop after school.

  • Cherry blossoms on the Quad

First day of spring! We went to the Quad really early this morning, like at 8 a.m., to see the cherry blossoms. First time since 2019 (the last 2 years, UW asked the public not to come). There were already a bunch of people there, but nothing compared to the crowds that will be there…

  • Revelio! Harry Potter World secrets

If your $60 interactive wand breaks, you can bring it back to Ollivanders and they’ll take it to their “repair shop” (aka replace it with a new one for free). Too bad Ron didn’t know that. More tips for visiting the wizarding world in my story for ParentMap. We had the BEST time at Harry…
