Joseph, lately

We are loving the longer and warmer days. Lately, the sidewalk in front of our home is always covered in numbers. (Someone is a little number-crazy.) The neighbor kids hopscotch on their way to school. I grew up without a backyard, so I'm excited for our first summer with a little outside space of our own. Joseph and I made pine cone birdfeeders, and we threw some seeds into the dirt so hopefully something green will sprout. We held a birthday party for Josephs' beloved Tutu (rabbit). All of Tutu's friends came, and everyone enjoyed made-from-scratch carrot cupcakes. The best things about the zoo don't involve actual animals. It's a great big park for us, where some animals happen to live. I won't caption this photo. If you've got a toddler, you might be able to guess what's going on. The Olympic Sculpture Park continues to be one of our favorite places in the city. While having snack, we watched (and counted) a train with 124 cars pass. And Joseph loved throwing rocks -- plop! -- into Elliott Bay.
